ILTVA®‘s Membership is limited to: (1) duly organized OEMs of new light transportation vehicles (“LTVs”)[1] and golf car chassis and manufacturing, marketing or distributing LTVs (Founder and Core Members, i.e., voting Members); (2) manufacturers of parts or components of LTVs and golf cars built by OEM Members of ILTVA® and assemblers and distributors of LTVs and golf cars using chassis furnished by Founding and Core Members, (collectively Associate Members); and (3) Allied Members, i.e., persons who do not qualify as Founder, Core or Associate Members, i.e., (i) an academician employed full time by a bona fide, accredited higher educational institute and engaged in safety or epidemiology research; (ii) an employee of a recognized standards institution, standards developer, motor or recreational vehicle trade association, testing laboratory or environmental institution; or (iii) an employee of a recognized media company including without limitation, a newspaper, website publisher and trade journal.
Voting Members shall be entitled to be represented on ILTVA®‘s Board. Each voting Member is entitled to appoint two primary directors and one alternative director to sit on the ILTVA® Board of Directors. The Board generally meets, twice yearly in person and otherwise via telephone or webinar.
DIVISIONS
ILTVA®‘s Divisions shall consist of not more than four (4) Divisions comprised of the following:
-Golf Car Division – To be responsible for promotion, development and maintenance of golf car safety and performance standards and guidelines.
-PTV Division – To be responsible for promotion, development and maintenance of PTV safety and performance standards and guidelines.
-Transportation and Utility Vehicles Division – To be responsible for promotion, development and maintenance or monitoring of transportation and utility vehicle safety and performance standards and guidelines.
-LSV Division – To be responsible for promotion, development and maintenance or monitoring of LSV safety and performance standards and guidelines.
Each Division shall have an autonomous Division governing Board consisting of full time OEM Members Executives to be appointed who manufacture LTVs and golf cars which are the responsibility of the particular Division. Each such OEM Member shall appoint one Division Board member. Each Division Board shall have a Chairman and Secretary elected by the Division Board members.
